Atenção: encontrei a minha base holy grail (!). Tenho a vossa atenção? Ótimo, porque temos MESMO de falar sobre a Superbalanced Silk, a nova base da Clinique.
Esta é uma nova e melhorada versão da Superbalanced original, que promete ser perfeita para todos os tipos de pele. Eu sei, uma loucura: uma base que promete hidratar as partes secas e matificar as partes oleosas do rosto? Não tendo experimentado a original, sempre achei estas afirmações uma treta. Uma base que consegue ser o melhor de dois mundos? Impossível, pensei... Até a experimentar.
Attention, good friends: I have found my holy grail foundation (!). Do I have your attention now? Good, because we REALLY have to talk about Superbalanced Silk, Clinique's new (and flipping amazing) foundation.
This is a revamped version of their original Superbalanced foundation, which promises to hydrate dry patches and control shine in the oilier areas of the face. Even though I've never tried the OG foundation, I've always thought these claims were bogus. Is it really possible to have the best of both worlds in one simple and accessible foundation? Bullcrap, I thought... Until I tried it for myself.
A minha pele era super oleosa mas agora é mais mista - zona T oleosa, resto da cara seca. Esta base hidrata toda a secura do rosto sem se agarrar e formar crostas e matifica as zonas oleosas, deixando um acabamento matte luminoso, mesmo de pele bonita e saudável. O acabamento é tão bonito que a minha mãe, que raramente comenta estas coisas, me elogiou imenso, pediu para experimentar e quer uma base só para ela! É mesmo como seda a deslizar sobre a pele - aliás, um dos componentes da base é mesmo seda! - e é super confortável de usar (e dura!) um dia inteiro, juro-vos que não se sente na pele.
Agora, o menos bom. Adoro o aspeto da embalagem, mas ODEIO o facto de não ter dispensor. Odeio odeio odeio! É preciso abanar a base, deitar o produto nas costas das mãos e rezar para não fazer a real borrada na roupa/toucador/casa de banho ou usar gastar demasiado produto. As cores também não são as melhores - a cor Silk Ivory (a mais clara em Portugal) é muito estranha, portanto encomendei a segunda cor mais clara da linha, a Silk Shell, na Feel Unique. É uma cor clara mas neutra, absolutamente perfeita para mim - mas, é claro, é sempre um risco escolher uma cor online, tive a sorte de acertar em cheio (depois de ler muitas reviews, vá!).
My skin used to be super oily but it's now pretty much combination - oily T-Zone, dry patches elsewhere. Somehow, magically, this manages to hydrate the parched parts of my skin and keep oil at bay on the oilier side of things, leaving behind a GORGEOUS soft matte/satin look of healthy and glowy skin. The finish is so beautiful that my mum, who usually doesn't care about stuff like this, complimented my skin so much, asked to try the foundation and now wants a bottle for herself! It truly feels like silk gliding onto the skin - it is formulated with actual silk, I'll have you know - and it feels absolutely weightless on the skin.
Now, the cons. I adore the frosted bottle, but I HATE the fact there's no pump. Like, hate hate hate. Why is it so hard to put a damn pump on a foundation when drugstore offerings have one?! Blows my mind. This means you basically have to pour it onto the back of your hand like a damn ketchup bottle and hope for the best. Shades are very hit and miss, too, as they can either make you look like a salmon or like a flaming hot Cheeto. Silk Shell is my perfect match, however, as it's fair and neutral.

No geral esta base é ótima para o dia a dia e tem um preço bem apetitoso (se estiverem habituadas a comprar bases caras, é claro). Custa 29€ na Feel Unique, o que me parece um preço bem justo para uma marca high end como a Clinique. Em Portugal podem encontrá-la na Perfumes & Companhia por 33€, ou online na Feel Unique.
Overall this is an amazing foundation that comes with a really good price (if you're used to buying luxury foundations, that is). At 29€ this is just as good (if not better) as YSL, Chanel or Guerlain foundations, without *really* breaking the bank! You can find all shades online at Feel Unique.
